Apply
Most of our adoptables live in foster homes, so in order to meet them you need to apply! When you're interested in an animal, click the "Apply for Adoption" button on their profile. There is no cost to apply!

You'll hear from us within about a week for next steps.

Discuss & Meet
Approved applications are sent to the foster home. They'll be in touch with you to answer any questions you have and tell you more about the pet's time in foster care. If you're interested, they will schedule a meet & greet.
Your meet & greet will be scheduled at a time and place convenient to you and the foster home.
Adopt!
Happy gotcha day! Adoption fees are due at this time. You'll be sent home with his/her medical records and perhaps a special toy or blanket from their foster home. Congratulations! We'll be in touch with you after the adoption to make sure things are going smoothly and support you and your new family member. Check our resources page for tips for caring for your dog or cat.

Dog Adoption Fees
Adult dog adoption fee is $350, $369.25 with tax
Puppy (under 5 mo) fee is $400, $422.00 with tax
Senior dog (8+ yrs) fee is $250, $263.75 with tax
Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:

Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (if old enough; up to date per age at time of adoption)

4DX before Heartworm Test for dogs over 6 months of age

Microchip

Deworming

Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative

Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian

*Senior dogs receive complimentary senior blood panel
Cat Adoption Fees
Adult cat adoption fee is $75, $79.13 with tax
Cat bonded pair (adults) is $100, $105.50 with tax
Kitten (under 5 mo) fee is $150, $158.25 with tax
Kitten pair (under 5 mo) fee is $225, $237.38 with tax
Cat (adult) and kitten (under 5 mo) is $175, $184.63 with tax
Underdog Pet Rescue of Wisconsin cats are up to date on the following medical treatments before adoption:

FeLV test (one kitten tested from each litter of kittens under 6 months)

FeLV/FIV test for cats over 6 months of age

Small Animal/Critter Adoption Fees
Rabbit adoption fee is $50, $52.75 with tax
Chinchilla adoption fee is $75, $79.13 with tax
Rat/Mouse adoption fee is $10, $10.55 with tax Guinea Pig adoption fee is $25, $26.38 with tax
Underdog Pet Rescue of Wisconsin critters/small animals are up to date on medical treatments.
Care varies per type of pet (i.e. we spay/neuter rabbits, but have various care for other species depending on safety/availability of procedures)
