Become a Foster

Opening your home to a foster pet is one of the most impactful ways to save a life. As a foster, you provide a safe, loving home where animals can settle in and get ready for their forever homes.

And you’re not doing it alone, Underdog supports you every step of the way.

What Underdog Provides

Underdog covers all veterinary care for your foster pet, including exams, treatments, medications, and any ongoing medical needs at our onsite veterinary clinic.

We provide the supplies you need to set your foster up for success. Fosters have access to our supply storage unit, stocked with essentials like:

  • Food and treats

  • Cat litter

  • Beds and crates

  • Toys and enrichment items

  • Leashes, collars, and harnesses

  • Cleaning supplies

  • And more, including just about anything your foster pet may need!

What Fosters Provide

Fosters provide the heart of the work — a home.

We ask that fosters provide:

  • A safe, stable, and loving environment

  • Time, patience, and understanding as pets adjust

  • Daily care and observation

  • Transportation to scheduled vet appointments or adoption events

Why Fostering Matters

Because we’re foster-based, every new foster home allows us to say “yes” to another animal in need. Whether they need time to heal, grow, or just learn what it means to be part of a family, fosters make that transformation possible.

Ready to make a difference? Apply to become a foster and help give an underdog their second chance.
